The First FLY Skirt
The FLY (From Leftover Yarn) Skirt KAL ultimately had 85 participants. But other than Kellie and I, so far we only have one completed skirt.
I was so excited to see this completed FLY Skirt in person last week at the Knit and Crochet Show in Charlotte, NC. I also love that she added her own little details like the super cute pockets on the front.
So who is our first person to finish? It is Sandy Huff! Interestingly enough, due to a minor technical hiccup, she was also one of the last folks to get started. She actually got started on the knitting September 10th and had is finished, blocked, and ready to wear 20 days later!
She shared with me that she was getting LOTS of compliments from the other knitters at the show. And then was able to take a stroll down the stage to show it off as part of the TKGA member show.
Personally I loved how cute it looked on her, how thrilled she was with the finished project and how it immediately matched things in her wardrobe because she used colors she already had.
Although the KAL is officially over, I am hoping that folks will still be sharing their completed FLY Skirt finished designs as they come off the needles. In the mean time, if you are looking for a pattern, one should be available in a few weeks to come!
I know that Sandy keeps an eye on the blog, so please feel free to share your thoughts and questions about her design in the comments below!
