Think Tank: Inspiration vs Technique
As I recently moved my knitting library upstairs to my new office, I spent some time thinking about which books so be where. Obviously, books I use regularly should be more easily accessible than those I rarely pull out. What I found is that my book fall in to two categories, those I purchased for inspiration (beautiful photos, interesting patterns/designs, eye-candy) and those I purchased for technical knowledge (stitch dictionaries, technique studies, how-to).
It was no surprise to me that my “go to” books fall in the technique categories since that is the aspect of knitting that I find most interesting. But I was not ready to thin out my library on the inspiration side either. Although I don’t go there as often, I still find them helpful.
So what kind of book collector are you?
