Update from Stitches and a Craftsy Coupon!
I have been enjoying seeing STITCHES Texas from behind the scenes again. I didn’t teach this time, but I was on hand to take social media photos and help document the show in general. It’s run by good people who genuinely care about the fiber arts community.
I still love looking around the market, and naturally found a few treasures. I also managed to make progress on my 50 UFO-to-FO goal this year; which is going great, by the way. I have finished three so far, because I counted anything that was in process on my birthday. I finished a sample of Lace Tango, one of our newest 2 Sides Patterns, I finished the mismatched color gradient socks and sent them off to my daughter-in-law, and I finished another pair of socks this week in my STITCHES downtime. I’m loving Gwen’s adventures on the cruise and thinking about going next year as a participant — Holy Bucket List!!
Overlaid onto all of that was the launch of my first ever Craftsy class. It’s been exciting to see and of course I’d love for you to check it out! If you missed out on getting it half price, you still get a discount for being a valued reader. Click HERE to buy my class, entitled Easy Yarn Substitution, for 5 dollars off! The class covers all aspects of substituting yarn, from evaluating a pattern to figuring out yarn amounts. I always have fun teaching it and I hope you’ll have fun honing your skills and feeling more confident about choosing yarns for your next pattern.
It’s a great, big, wide world of knitting, yarn and classes out there, and it’s pretty exciting for me to be part of it on so many levels. If you’d like to see my photos from STITCHES Texas, most of the photos on the Knitting Universe Facebook page are mine. Look especially at the photos from the Student Banquet and Fashion Show. It’s one of my favorite parts of the weekend because I get to see what real people are knitting and enjoy how proud and excited they feel when they wear their creations.
